NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS

PAINT AND PEN PALS- May 21, 2013 The New Haven Independent, by David Sepulveda-"Similar, But Different" is the way Edgewood School second-grade teacher Kim Rogers has described a unique artistic and social collaboration between her class and art students of Tina Menchetti at Chapel Haven, a private non-profit transitioning program serving young adults on the autism spectrum and those with social and developmental disabilities. "We made sure to put the art in ArtWalk," he said..."  Click HERE for the full article and to comment.

LITERATURE, OIL MIX- May 13, 2013, The New Haven Independent, By David Sepulveda- "Festival-goers who gathered at Westville's neighborly Aquila Motors during the opening of Friday's 16th Annual Artwalk, were not there for a lube job or car repair. Instead of the aroma of fresh ground coffee that usually accompanies their cafe readings of prose and poetry by local talent, the scent of oil and garage wafted in the air as New Haven Review, the local publisher that highlights content by Greater New Haven area writers and those far beyond, offered a a mash-up of literary readings and musical performances, all set in a mechanic's workplace..."
